Is it ok to install old versions of Microsoft that are not supported by them?

It's legal, but since they aren't putting out new security patches for it then I'd recommend that the computer never be connected to the internet, since it could be too dangerous.

Yeah, perfectly fine but some things to keep in mind



- no more software updates



- you won't be able to call up for phone support



- new programs might not run on your old OS



If you're going to install an old OS, don't install past Win2000.
Sure it is.



You may have difficulty finding drivers for some of your hardware but there is nothing wrong with doing it.
If they are pirated, then HecK NO.
It is ok if you want to but I would suggest stay away cause you will have a hell of a time getting certain removable devices to work such as USB key drives (a nightmare with Windows 95/98). In fact most companies don't even support windows 95/98 anymore so you might not be able to get drivers in the first place.
