Xbox 360 works as a great, all-around multi-use game console. Which does more than just games.

Zune 2.0 is essentially iPod G5 PLUS MORE. Plus, unlike iPods, v1 Zunes are supported in this update. Kudos to MS.

Microsoft keyboards and mice work great ergonomically, and even look quite nice.

WM6 has a ton of functionality that the iPhone can barely touch.

Media Center is 10X than Apple TV/Front Row, with it's very intuitive UI, DVR functioning, and it just works.

WMP 11 is the best media management program there is. Beautiful UI, great rip/burn functions, and a bazillion skins, codecs, and tons of stuff.

Windows Vista works great on my Sony Vaio, since I bought it weeks ago. It runs super fast, offers everything OS X Tiger has plus support and more, and it just works.

Live Search 2.0 also has way improved relevancy and offers better search styles than Google.

I happen to like their products a lot.

Some are turned off by their tactics in business and the cost of their commercial products, but they always have a quality product, in my opinion.

I can not stand Microsoft their computer systems are a monopoly all over the world and they are the least safe and have the worst program code.

My x box has already had a virus, my laptop has been attacked, my pc has crashed twice.

I got a power book and its like night and day. I will never go back.

omg microsoft is a monopoly. an evil one at that. they've lost several lawsuits against them because of that, also. the whole idea behind microsoft was stolen in the first place. what a buncha crooks! wouldn't surprise me a bit if they didn't have tracking devices in all their software. or software that reports u to the govt. u need to get a life and some wisdom while you're at it. microsoft is out to make money no matter what. if the choice for them was to either make money or save your life, you'd better have your life insurance paid up lol.

I have to agree with you that Microsoft has good products, but we have to see what's outside the box, we have the internet for example, Microsoft is struggling to compete with Google, we also have the video gaming industry, you mentioned XBOX but i would go with Playstation 3, I tried both and would vote for PS3 anytime.

and also for the operating system we will find Linux with its many distributions, its far better than the new Windows Vista and it also has a "free" office applications that matches the one in Microsoft office.

so the answer is yes Microsoft is great, but there are better companies, Microsoft is better than them in some points and the others are better than it in the other points.
Yeah their awesome until you have to pay to many of the high prices for all those great products. once that price comes along Microsoft is about as awesome as a ketchup popsicle.
It's easy to compare to OS X Tiger, but wait until Leapord comes out soon. The features that it will have are spectacular.

But really its apples and oranges, they're all great systems, just based on what you need. If you need a system for gaming, go with Windows, if your a media/internet lurker, it's Mac for you.

Oh and XBox 360 connects to my Mac just as well as my Windows computer did. Connect 360 is the program you need for that.

The company lies, bullies and screws its customers -- all in the name of money. The guy above is absolutely correct. Windows is the WORST operating system to have ever been written. The whole OS is one giant spyware with LOTS of serious security flaws. Why do you think there are security updates almost every week?

You say vista runs great, but you fail to mention that you need a SUPER computer to run it; what kind of BS is that? Does microsoft seriously expect people to buy new hardware in order to run vista? What a bunch of clowns.

How dare you compare a piece junk like the zune to an iPod? The zune SUCKS big time. Nothing works on it. It's an ugly looking device with a tortured and unusable user interface. EVERYONE I know who bought one have returned it and purchased an iPod within a week! That's how bad it is. Read here:
